VEGAS BABY

Nevada … in the middle of August… with over 40 degrees… Why not? 🙂
On August the 27th of August we flew to Las Vegas !!

It was beautiful flying over the desert. The view from the plane was amazing!
Once we arrived at the airport, we got a taxi to take us to our hotel.
Caution!! Rip off!
Taxis are not allowed to drive on the motorway. They must take the shortest route through the city, even if the taxi driver insists on saying that there is too much traffic in the city.

Well … if we only had known that. We blindly trusted the taxi driver and fell straight into his trap. He even told us that we were lucky with him, because there are a lot of other taxi drivers who only rip off the tourists. We were happy about our luck.
The motorway is a lot longer and uses a lot more fuel. When we arrived at the hotel, our taxi driver was stopped by the police and questioned. We also were questioned by the police and the policeman gave us the chance to prosecute. It was pretty dramatic. In the hotel we immediately googled what the taxi would have cost us. We paid almost twice as much….
Welcome to Las Vegas!

We stayed in the Excalibur Hotel for 4 days and 5 nights. I can really recommend the hotel, the casino and the pool! The location is great too! Check in was also super easy and the lady was very friendly.

What to do in Las Vegas?

  • Saxe Theater Planet Hollywood
I have no idea how, but Phil managed to get us tickets for a magic show for only $ 14. There are really a lot of shows in Vegas, but they also cost a lot 🙂 And of course many of them were already fully booked or unfortunately unaffordable. But in the Safe Theater Planet Hollywood there were still a few places available and who can say no at the price. We can really only recommend watching a show in Las Vegas, no matter which one!
  • Las Vegas Strip
Just walking along the big wide street, getting lost and exploring the city. You should definitely come back at night. The whole city is shining, people with costumes and drinks are everywhere and limousines are driving past you.
  • Caesars Palace
  • Venetian Hotel
  • Mirage Hotel
  • Bellagio
The water features and the botanical garden are really unique
  • Paris Las Vegas
  • Luxur Hotel
  • New York
  • Harly-Davidson
Las Vegas Sign is just a few minutes’ walk away. You can simply walk in and look at the great motorcycles and even send a small souvenir (photo) by email.
  • Flamingo Las Vegas
Everything is pink!!! And they have a lot of flamingos, too.
  • Las Vegas Schild
Who would have thought … A lot of tourists standing in a row just to get a photo with the sign. We did too, of course 😉
Tip: The earlier you get there, the fewer people there are.

On the last day we were lying by the pool, enjoying the sun, the water and the silence.
On September 1st we picked up our rental car and drove straight to the Red Rock Canyon. Let the road trip begin 🙂
